Over the past three weeks, SouthWest Judo Academy’s talented athletes have showcased their skills at two of Judo Australia’s National Event Series competitions on the east coast. Their determination and achievements have made us incredibly proud!
2024 Canberra International Open:
- Alyssa Fry competed fiercely in the Junior Women Under 48kg division against some tough opponents. While she didn’t place in the Junior division, Alyssa bounced back in the Senior Women Under 48kg division to claim a bronze medal 🥉 after an incredible display of resilience and skill.
2024 Sydney International Open:
- Emileka Aiesi showed tenacity in the Cadet Women Under 63kg division, narrowly missing a medal in a closely contested bronze match after a tough first-round match-up against a fellow WA competitor. Unfortunately, her journey in the Junior Women Under 63kg division ended in the opening round.
- Georgia Aiesi competed in the Senior Women Under 70kg division, starting strong with a victory over a WA opponent in the opening round. She advanced to the final, where she faced another WA athlete and came away with a silver medal 🥈 after a hard-fought match.
Congratulations to Alyssa, Georgia, and Emileka for their incredible efforts and achievements. Each competition is a step forward, and we are so proud to have you represent SouthWest Judo Academy on the national stage.
Let’s keep the momentum going—onward to the next challenge! 🥋💪
