Club Rules & Policies

To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for everyone, we ask all members, visitors, and spectators to familiarise themselves with the following rules and guidelines:

Preparing for Class

  • Personal Hygiene

Keep your body clean. If you're feeling unwell, please refrain from attending class.

  • Grooming

Keep fingernails and toenails trimmed. Tie long hair back with a band that contains no metal.

  • Accessories

No jewelry or hard objects are allowed during practice.

  • Uniform

Wear a clean, dry, and undamaged judogi (uniform). If unsure, consult the instructors/coaches. Girls should wear a white shirt under their judogi.

During Class

  • Respect

Treat all members with courtesy and respect.

  • Food & Drink

No eating or chewing gum on the mat. Water bottles are allowed but must remain near the mat.

  • Footwear

No shoes on the mat. Remove shoes and store them neatly before stepping onto the mat.

  • Safety

Look out for others and report unsafe practices. Intervene when observing inappropriate behavior or techniques.

  • Injuries

Report all injuries to the instructors/coaches immediately. Apply first aid if needed, with their guidance.

Attitude

  • Positive Environment

Enjoy the practice, socialize, and have fun.

  • Commitment to Learning

Aim to learn and practice Kodokan Judo safely, respecting fellow judokas.

  • Etiquette

Follow proper judo etiquette and exercise restraint outside the dojo.

  • Self-Improvement

Treat judo as a path to self-perfection, not as a tool for intimidation or harm.

Spectators/Visitors

  • Welcoming Environment

    Spectators are always welcome.

  • Seating

Use the chairs or benches provided along the side of the mat.

  • Respect

Refrain from loud or excessive talking, especially when instructors/coaches are speaking.
