Alyssa Fry and Olivia Knights Compete at the 2024 Macau Junior Asian Cup

SouthWest Judo Academy is thrilled to celebrate the remarkable efforts of Alyssa Fry and Olivia Knights at the 2024 Macau Junior Asian Cup, where they displayed courage and determination on the international stage.

Alyssa Fry kicked off her competition in the Junior Women Under 48kg category with a standout performance in the Round of 16, submitting her Singaporean opponent with a perfectly executed armbar. Despite a tough loss in the quarter-final to a Hong Kong opponent and a close repechage match where she was disqualified after a 3rd shido, Alyssa finished 7th overall—a fantastic achievement in a highly competitive division.

Olivia Knights, competing in the Junior Women Under 57kg category, faced a nail-biting quarter-final where she narrowly lost to her Taipei opponent due to a 3rd shido. Not one to back down, Olivia stormed back in the bronze medal match, claiming victory after her Korean opponent was disqualified for head diving. Olivia’s determination earned her a well-deserved bronze medal! 🥉🎉

Both Alyssa and Olivia are now training at an international camp as they prepare for their next challenge—the Hong Kong Junior Asian Cup this weekend.

We’re incredibly proud of their resilience and achievements and look forward to seeing them continue their journey. Let’s keep the cheers going for our SouthWest Judo Academy stars! 🌟
