Volunteering

Be Part of the Team That Keeps Judo Thriving

Judo is built on community, and at every level—from local clubs to international arenas—the sport relies on the passion and dedication of volunteers. At SouthWest Judo Academy, we’re proud to offer a wide range of opportunities for individuals to contribute to the growth and success of judo. Whether you’re an experienced judoka or new to the sport, there’s a role for everyone.

How You Can Help

Volunteering is vital to the smooth running of our club and events. Here are some of the ways you can get involved:

Volunteer as a Coach

Do you have a passion for teaching and inspiring others? Volunteer as a coach within our club and help develop the next generation of judokas.

Volunteer as a Referee

Referees are essential to ensuring fair and exciting competitions. Get involved as a referee at local and state tournaments and play a key role in the action.

Event Support

Events like tournaments and training camps depend on a team of committed volunteers. Whether you're helping set up or ensuring smooth operations during the event, your contribution makes all the difference. Specific roles include: Setup Crew: Transporting and laying mats, setting up IT and scoring equipment. Event Officials: Assisting as a scoreboard operator, marshaller, or first-aider. Event Photographer: Capturing the excitement and spirit of our events.

How to Get Involved

We typically share volunteering opportunities as they arise throughout the year, especially in the lead-up to major events. Keep an eye on our updates for new ways to contribute.

Have an idea or a specific way you’d like to volunteer? We’d love to hear from you! Whether you have a skill you'd like to share or just want to lend a hand, your support is invaluable to the judo community.
